1 Player picked in the 2010 NFL Draft

Sean Canfield got drafted in the 7th round by the world champion New Orleans Saints(I love saying that).

It's says alot about the 2009 OSU Football team. Not a lot of seniors, not a lot of draft picks(especially compared to last year). Riley obviously did the most with what he had in 2009, otherwise there would have been more draftee's.

Good luck to Sean, I hope he kicks ass and gets a roster spot. He is joining a great team, great coach, and a great starter(Drew Brees) to learn from.

OSU Coaches help Jeremy Perry

I don't think I've ever seen something like this before, but now that we are in the YouTube world it's not too surprising.

Jeremy Perry was a top offensive lineman at OSU who barely played his last two years because of injuries. He was a candidate to become a high draft pick, but things didn't work out.

I am impressed that the OSU coaches agreed to help JP by making the video below. When I played at OSU I couldn't get a coach do jack for me. As far as the quality of the video, looking at it from a pure PR standpoint- it needs work. There are no gameplay highlights, and the interviews last too long. The workout film clips look ok, but needs editing.

Injuries

It is the theme of the 2010 spring practice. Players are either quitting or getting hurt.

Phillip goes down today.

Spring Practice Schedule 2010

Spring Practice Schedule (weekday practices are 3-5 p.m.) – March 29, 31; April 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, May 1 (Spring Game).

If you want to check out some posts about the individual positions for the Beavs, check out Cliff Kirkpatricks blog.

BTW- Quizz is not 100% and has to get an MRI Monday. James is still nursing his collarbone injury. Quizz will not have any full contact this spring.

Ducks have issues

The national press is all over the LaMichael James sentence today. The whole UofO football is under the microscope ala Oklahoma or Colorado in the 80's. Back then teams had felons all over the place. I thought programs learned their lesson, apparently not.

It's weird watching history repeat itself like this. I am getting old.

Let's hope the Beavers never get in position where they have talented athletes that are sociopaths too.

BTW- I do not think Oregon is the only team that has discipline issues. I think they are being mismanaged (by Chip Kelly) and players are getting caught.
