The Spring Football Game is Upon Us
This weekend the Beavers will play their annual spring game at Reser Stadium. OSU's revamp of the south enzone is looking great. The improvements make the old side of the stadium look antiquated.
A lot of the starting players for OSU have not suited up full time this spring, but a lot of backups got good experience. This is fine with me, my only concern is that those players who nursed injuries or were held back will be rusty in the fall. I don't think it's a big deal given the experience level of most of our starters, but still, timing and technique will suffer.
Here is an archive of spring practice propoganda from OSU's Athletics Dept.
Don't underestimate our schedule next fall. Yes we have a lot of position players back, but we have a new QB. New QB's in the Pac-10 usually need half a season to get in the groove-see Nate Longshore Cal QB. Cal groomed Nate into a pretty good Pac-10 QB by thoughtfully scheming gameplans that didn't put undo stress on the newbie QB. It will be interesting to see how Mike Riley handles his new QB this fall. I expect Bernard is going to get a lot of carries early and often, until defenses start keying off him and forcing OSU's new QB to make plays.
BTW- I've added a new search system to this blog from Eurekster. This looks pretty cool, nice search results too. Check it out. Help me build my cloud of keywords!
BTW2- OSU' Baseball team is awesome.
