Brains versus Trains

I know you've heard the joke about the kid who thought god said "trains" instead of "brains" and the kid didn't get his.

Well, OSU has it's share of brain handicapped players on the team who can't seem to stay on the right path.

CB-Coye Francies has been suspended indefinitely
QB-Jake Gelakoska will enroll in JC
RB-Reggie Dunn will enroll in JC

Preseason Rankings Analysis

College football is one of the greatest institutions in America, and so is preseason rankings. I was surfing around for a website that aggregates the different magazine and news organization preseason rankings and....voile. Here it is

What's my take on these rankings? They mean nothing, any given Saturday someone can lose. That's what is so great about NCAA Football. Now, if they would only implement a playoff system.....

What's my take on OSU's lack of respect?
I call it a lack of respect for OSU, but it should be for the whole Pac-10. OSU is ranked fourth in the conference overall, but is only ranked 33rd nationally. USC is everyone's #1, UCLA and Cal are outside the top 10.

Less than 2 months till Utah

I am done posting about OSU baseball. They are great, but it's time for football.

Utah is going to be a tough opponent, I am expecting a dogfight as the two teams work to minimize mistakes versus just making plays.

Utah has a QB who is on the Maxwell list for 2007. Strangely the guy didn't even play in 2006 and is coming off of major knee surgery. I guess anyone can get on the preseason list these days......

They also have a Safety on the Nogurski list and two O-lineman on the Outland list.

Protho's Video Mix

Jason Protho has put together a group of clips from OSU's post season, and seeing some of these plays again really blows my mind. This was a really talented group of baseball players. They remind me of the Oakland A's in a lot of ways.

A college baseball dynasty?

Winning last year's title at Rosenblatt Stadium was a major breakthrough for a team not from traditional baseball hotbeds such as Arizona, California, Florida and Texas. To come back and win it all a year later is even more impressive.
