Offense:

Fumbles, INT's and a Safety. Otherwise there was some real potential shown last night. 490 yds of offense is not shabby. Fighting back, and almost putting the game into OT is great.

QB's:
Moevao had 404 yds of passing against Stanford, which is great.

But threw 2 INT's and one Safety. 3 turnovers.

Yards per pass was 7.5, which is good.

62% pass completion is ok. Not good.

Moevao managed six drives of over 50 yards and three over 70, including a two-minute drill before the half that went 80 yards for a touchdown. That is very good.

RB's:
Quizz Rodgers had 54 yds on 11 carries. Not bad.

McCants had a whopping 11 yds on 4 carries. Not Good

WR's:
Everyone had a great game until the end. Heartbreaking.

TE's:
Reese had 1 catch for 3 yds. These guys were none existent except for false start penalties. Very weak.

O-Line:
As a group the offense did produce 404 yds of passing and 86 yds of rushing, but there were mistakes galore and penalties. But given the patch work unit OSU has, they did a good job.

Defense:
24 players made at least one tackle. Which is awesome.

2 sacks, 6 TFL's is okay.

201 yds rushing and a career night by Gerhart is not good. Penn St will have horses who run just as hard.

But, three runs were over 40 yards. Big plays hurt. The defense swarmed for the most part.

No turnovers is weak too. Hopefully the return of Al "The Hitman" Afalava will change that.

D-Line:
210 yds rushing is unacceptable. Gerhart accounted for 147 of those yds, and he could have had more if he had got the ball more often. He looked unstoppable.

LB's:
Missed tackles led to HUGE runs by Gerhart. His avg per carry was 7.7 yds. Second for Stanford was Kimble with 2.7 yds per carry. Pass interference penalties hurt, but otherwise these guys laid some big hits and swarmed the ball for 4 qtrs.

DB's:
91 yds passing for Stanford is good. 0 INT's is not. Multiple pass interference penalties is not good either. Run defense was not good, the DB's took bad angles on Gerhart and got burnt.

Punter:
27 yds per punt is pathetic. Being the cause of partially blocked punt is not good. Enuff said.

Kicker:
2 for 2 on FG's and 2 for 2 on PAT's is solid.

Coaching:
0-1 going into Penn St is not good. But it's not the end of the world either.

OSU BEAVER FOOTBALL BLOG FINAL OP/ED ON THE STANFORD GAME:

We are young and need time to gel. The skill players on both sides of the ball looked extremely fast. Our WR's are among the best in Pac-10. The defense was close to having a great game. The offense looked great in spots, and looked horrible in others. A INT/TD and the Safety were the difference in the game.

2 plays. Only 2 plays.......

Look out Penn St, the Beavers are going to bring it.

A few less bad snaps could have helped us too... 1 on the fumble and 1 on the INT!!!

I don't see anyone talking about this.
